Edinburgh: Printed For John Bell, Parliament-Square; And For G. Robinson, Pater-Noster-Row, London, 1784. Third Edition. 1/4 Calf. Near fine. 8º, 20cm.; plates; 3 vols., 461pp., 410pp., 631pp. (vol. 3 dated 1796); modern 1/4 bound in calf with burgandy spine title panel, title in gilt, marbled covers. Anderson was a prolific author on the subjects of agriculture and land use and was insturmental in establishing agricultural education in Scotland. He also carried on an extensive correspondence with George Washington on the subject of farming, sending the President equipment and seeds. The third volume (1796) was intended to accompany the second edition, Edinburgh, 1777, which was first published in two volumes, and the third edition, Edinburgh, 1784. (ESTC) (Fussell II).
