Barrett was an American academic and author of a well-received series of textbooks. He was an instructor and professor at Harvard University from 1880 through 1917and also served as a trustee of the Boston Athenaeum, a member of the Massachusetts Historical Society, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His colleagues here pay tribute to Wendell the teacher and man. Minor shelfwear and slight fading to boards.
