Leipzig: Carl Reißner, 1880. First edition. fair. Octavo. 68 (2)pp. Original gray wrappers with large illustrated label laid down and orange and black lettering on cover, protected in modern mylar. Collection of cheerful verse by "Dr. Medicus" for young mothers concerned with the welfare of their children. Illustrated with drawings relating to the topics covered, e.g. first problems, diapers, nutrition, skin care, baptism, sickness, etc. Text in German, Gothic script. Wrappers browned, lightly soiled and repaired with Scotch tape at spine, top to bottom. Small library sticker at top of spine. First three leave separated but present. Following block up to page 16 separated. Block with some browning along edges. Binding and interior in overall fair condition.
