About This Item

New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1895. No. 3 of only 25 copies printed, and signed by George Whartom Edwards. Bright and fine copy with slight cracking to inner front gutter paper and minor spotting to signature page - quite rare in this condition. No. 3 of only 25 copies printed, and signed by George Whartom Edwards. Unpaged. [vi, 48p]. Illustrated by George Wharton Edwards, all rectos being full-page drawings in Art Nouveau style, with the text on the versos within large illustrated frames. Title page printed in gilt and orange, and with a frontispiece not included in the trade edition. Bound in the publisher's parchment vellum with green watered silk endpapers, both covers in overall gilt designs of fountains, birds, flowers and trailing vines. (The trade edition has cover design on the upper cover only.). In our opinion, surely George Wharton Edwards' finest designs.
