Paris. Very Good with no dust jacket. First Edition. Non-Book. PIERRE AUGUSTE RENOIR Sur la plage, a Bernival (Stella 5 iii/iii). Original etching, c. 1892. A good impression with detail in the dark areas, for example in the girls hair, before the plate was beveled, subsequently this is very likely the 2nd state produced before the more common 1902 edition. The central image shows Julie Manet, Berthe Morisot's daughter, and her cousin Jeanne watching bathers from the beach. Signed in the plate lower right. Image size: 135x92mm (5.25" x 3.5"). Offered framed in gilt, silver and linen box frame with the majority of the engraving exposed. The images are victim of reflections, the engraving is in actual fact in Fine condition, free from any blemishes. A lovely and very scarce early edition of this engraving. ; 5.25" x 3.5" .
