[FINCH, Captain W[illiam] B., U. S. Navy]. 3 ½ x 3 ½" engraved bookplate in sepia of Capt. Finch. A handsome plate with Finch's shield bearing his name above "U. S. Navy," the shield resting on a pair of crossed cannons, cannon balls and ammunition at their base, with other artillery equipment and furled flags at the rear. N.p., n.d.

On 8 June 1830, the sloop Vincennes, under Capt. W. B. Finch, completed an around the world voyage, the first U. S. Navy warship to do so. Fine.
