"He first discusses the different types of mills and their variations in different parts of the country, and goes on to give a detailed account of their machinery, how the mills worked and the men who operate them. He dealst finally with their decline in this country and how they should be preserved and recorded. The pen-and-ink drawings were made specially for the book, and the plates include all those windmills in England which at present [1967] work by wind, as well as many which have done so during the past 30 years." Pp.xxiv/246, over 32 b/w photo plates + 64 figure illustrations by Vincent Lines. Plus a Ministry of Public Buildings and Works: Ancient Monuments and Historic Buildings 10 page booklet: Saxtead Green Mill , Framlingham, Suffolk by Rex Wailes.(Reprint, 1969). Blue cloth, dustwrapper (illustrated by Vincent Lines) has rubbing to edges and a 2cm tear to top edge but has a removable clear protective wrap. VG/G+.
