HATFIELD BOOKS AND MEMORABILIA, a FIVE STAR SELLER, presents a TWO VOLUME SET: THE ENGLISH TRADITION (VOLUME I: TO 1714; VOLUME II: SINCE 1714). HARD TO FIND since they were never reprinted after the late 60's, this set offers 84 essays in two volumes by some of the greatest historical commentators of the mid-Twentieth Century, describing the progress of England from 450 to 1950. Both volumes are 6" x 9 1/8", 374 pages for Volume 1, 390 pages for Volume 2. Volume I is FIRST THUS, FIRST PRINTING STATED, 1967. Volume II is FIRST THUS, THIRD PRINTING STATED, 1967. Overall condition of Volume I is VERY GOOD: light tanning, 2 creases to cover, owner's name and addy on front reverse cover, some rubbing to cover, else clear, tight, no additional marks, sharp, remainder mark present. Overall condition of Volume II is GOOD: almost no tanning, occasional underlining and marginal notes throughout, rubbing and creases to cover, owner's name and date on front reverse cover,else clear, tight, sharp. Price is for 2 books.
