Leningrad, USSR (Russia): State Text-Book Publishing House of the Ministry of Education of the RSFSR, 1962. Hardcover. Very Good. Tan boards with navy blue lettering to front board and spine. Numerous illustrations and a fold-out chart. Pages age-tanning. The bulk of the material presented in the book has beenused for manyyears in teaching students at the First State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages (Moscow) and has, in the authors' opinion, passed the test of time...The authors have, however, considerably enlarged the original material...the theoretical treatment of many phonetic phenomena in the book is different from what is to be found in the curent works of British and American phoneticians (the concept of thep honeme, the classification of English phonemes, intonation, etc.)...
