Methuen and Co, 1912. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1912. 3rd edition. 577 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth with gilt titles to spine and front. Includes maps. From the History of England series. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Pencil inscriptions to front endpaper. Foxing more noticeable towards the start and end of the book and on text block edges. Hinges are cracked with exposed netting, however text block remains firm. Slight water stains in places. Boards have heavy edge wear, with intense bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are very crushed and frayed. Joints worn too with slight splits. Scratched, rubbed and marked overall. A few liquid droplet marks. Book has a moderate forward lean. Gilt is bright.
