Quarto. First published in 1984, this is the second printing, 1985, stated. Volume I only, from the six-volume Encyclopedia of Ukraine(1984-93). Does not include Map and Gazetteer. Revision of: Entsyklopediia ukrainoznavstva, and published under the auspices of the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (University of Alberta), the Shevchenko Scientific Society (Sarcelles, France), and the Canadian Foundation for Ukrainian Studies.
