Selected bibliography. Index. The author was a professor of English at Skidmore College. He had worked with Ken Burns of Florentine Films on documentaries including Empires of the Air, a film based on this book (which earned an Emmy nomination). Three American visionaries (Lee de Forest, Edwin Howard Armstrong, and David Sarnoff) whose imagination and dreams turned a hobbyists' toy into radio, launching the modern communications age.
