The present text is not the first in English; As MARIA, it was translated by L. E. LaBan in two volumes for Brandon House in 1969. Hollo is a well-known poet and translator of poetry and fiction, having been associated with the secnd wave " of the New York School and teaching for many years at the Naropa Institute.
