About This Item

Boston: Bantam Books, 1986. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Near Fine. 9.5" by 6.5". None. A very smart first edition of this thrilling work from American author and war correspondent Nicholas Proffitt, with the original advance reading copy of the book. Two volumes. First edition. With the advance reading copy consisting of uncorrected page proofs, not originally for sale. "Embassy House" was the name given to the CIA headquarters in each of the provincial capitals in Vietnam. To one such compound, in 1970, comes Special Forces Captain Jake Gulliver, reassigned against his will into the politically unstable Mekong Delta. Written by Nicholas Proffitt, an American author, screenwriter, and war correspondent. Also includes a letter from Robert E. Gordon Jr., Director of The National Wilderness Institute, explaining to the recipient that they have organised for Bantam Books to provide him with a copy of Proffitt's book East of Eden, dated March 1990. The first edition is bound in the original quarter black cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with light wear to the extremities and minor sunning to the spine. Advance reading copy is bound in the original paper binding. Externally, very smart with light wear to the extremities and minor sunning to the spine. The odd small mark to the boards with a Bantom sticker to the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout. Near Fine
