Has a library stamp on the FFEP. Pages have heavy rubbing, some tearing and heavy soiling and yellowing. Stock photos may not look exactly like the book.

A beautiful vintage reader from 1931. Binding is in fair condition, as well as the cover. Several classic stories and beautiful full colored art.

Interior has some stains throughout and small amounts of foxing but is overall very bright and clean with many colorful illustrations by Miriam Story Hurfurd. Very good condition.William S. Gray developed the Curriculum Foundation Series of books for Scott, Foresman and Company. His vision was to tie "subject area" books in health, science, social studies, and arithmetic (each discipline having its own series of graded texts also published by Scott, Foresman and Company) with the vocabulary mastered in the basic readers, thus vastly improving readability in these same areas. These books often had the very recognizable names of Dick and Jane

Owner's name and address on front pastedown and rear endpaper. A picture of a boy and a sticker with owner's name and age on front endpaper. Name and address of owner on rear endpaper. Corner tip wear and spine ends' fabric bending. Tear approximately 3 mm on spine head. Toning and light soiling on fore edges and top and bottom edges. A few ink marks on two leaves. One leaf glued due to jagged gutter tear on next leaf. Three leaves with small hole at top margin. Contains an idex, glossary and notes with questions after selected material.
