Their stories are as varied as the countries they came from. Many were not accepted and died in transit back to their countries. Many stories are heart breaking many are joyful, many are horrific and many are successful. This is a book one should read if you have visited Ellis Island or if you plan on visiting. I visited the Island in the mid 70s' and plan on going again soon. It is the most touching experience on the historic growth of our country.
