Brown cloth with gilt-stamped spine title. Dust jacket with photograph of the author on the back section. First published in the United States in 1973 by Random House under the title Searches and Seizures. Contents: The Bailbondsman -- The Making of Ashenden -- The Condominium. Stanley Lawrence Elkin (1930-1995), Brooklyn-born, Chicago-raised, and University of Illinois-educated novelist, essayist, and short-story writer, spent most of his adult life teaching at Washington University in St. Louis. He twice won the National Book Critics Circle Award and was a finalist for the 1991 National Book Award for Fiction. Book is in Fine Condition: clean and bright. Dust Jacket is in Near Fine Condition: lightly rubbed.
