Green cloth hardcover in dustjacket and clear acetate protector (as issued); 271pp. Tight, fine copy, with bookseller's ticket of Macondo Books (New York) affixed to front endpaper. In the original pictorial dustwrapper, mildly toned on spine panel and extremities, but still Near Fine and retaining the publisher's wrap-around band and clear acetate protector. The jacket is the first state (per Klein), priced 300 pesetas, with matching sans-serif typeface on spine and front panels, with rear panel photo credited to Rodrigo Garcia Barcha. Text entirely in Spanish.
Attractive copy of the Nobel Prize winner's third novel and first following his epoch-making One Hundred Years of Solitude (1967). The Spanish edition is the correct first edition - a Colombian edition did not appear until 1976.
