Russell Waters (1843-1911) was a prominent Californian banker and cattle rancher who served one term in Congress; this (perhaps true) memoir is based upon his experiences "south of the Tehachapis." This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition. Tan cloth decorative binding, stamped in the blind with a cowpoke gazing off over a western lanfscape, rendered in black, red, tan, and blue; titles in gilt. Clean text; 298 pages. Illustrated by Will E. Chapin, with sepia drawings and full-page plates throughout. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Decorative Cloth. Very Good Plus/No Jacket. Illus. by Will E. Chapin.
