The first edition. Illustrated by Edmund Dulac with a frontispiece and nineteen colour plates. Collated complete. Published for the French Red Cross, to whom the profits of the sales were donated. This collection of fairy tales was illustrated by the noted illustrator Edmund Dulac, best known for his book illustrations for the Bronte sisters and his designs for banknotes and stamps. This work features classic tales such as Cinderella and Sinbad the Sailor. Undated, dated by copies found on Jisc. In the publisher's original cloth. Lacking dust wrapper. Externally smart with slight fading to the spine, marks to the boards, bumping and wear to the extremities and a closed tear to the cloth to the tail of the front joint. Offsetting to the endpapers with light spotting. Front hinge starting after the front blank. Internally generally firmly bound with cords showing in places and the first few pages starting. Pages age toned and generally clean with occasional light spotting. Very Good
