New York: D. Appleton-Century Company, 1941. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition. Illustrated including black and white frontispiece portrait of Poe. Gilt-stamped red cloth. Octavo. xvi, 804pp. Very faint water wrinkle on top page edges, white scuff marks on the front board, spine title faded, very good lacking the scarce dust jacket. Affectionately Inscribed by the author in the year of publication to American astronomer Dr. Charles P. Olivier. A nice association copy as Olivier was one of the contributors that can be found in this book offering his views on Poe's scientific knowledge. Both Quinn and Olivier were prominent faculty members of the University of Pennsylvania.
