Shultz, inscribed to Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, Senator Russell B. Long.. Octavo, xi, 225pp. Blue cloth, title stamped in silver on spine. Inscribed by Secretary Shultz: "To Russell Long, With my admiration - Mr. Chairman - for the sustained high quality of your contributions to economic policy and my thanks for your help and friendship. George P. Shultz." An exceptional association copy, between the former Treasury Secretary and the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. George P. Shultz (1920-2020) enjoyed a long career in the public and private sector. He served as Secretary of Labor then Secretary of the Treasury for President Richard Nixon, and later served as Secretary of State for President Ronald Reagan. In the private sector, he was the president of Bechtel Group, and he was a board member and investor in Theranos Corporation, which collapsed in disgrace in 2018 due to massive fraud. He was also a member of the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
