About This Item
1889. Believed First Edition. Hardcover. Acceptable. Lacks dustwrapper as issued boards are somewhat rubbed and worn especially to corners and are also quite heavily soiled. Titles to cover are still legible. End papers are slightly browned, front hinge is loose but still attached. Page edges are tanned and there is a small spot to two pages, text is otherwise in good order as are the illustrations. Contains a laid in copy of a supplement from the Hereford Times about charitable works undertaken by Lady Somerset. This is quite worn but still legible. Still a good study copy. Scarce as first edition.
