Longman, Brown, Green and Longmans.London. 1847. Longman, Brown & Green. 1847. First edition. With the ownership signature of H. Rider Haggard to the title page with the date 1899 added in his own hand. Original turquoise cloth gilt, rubbed and marked. Head and tail of spine frayed. Corners worn. Endpapers and prelims browned and worn along edges. Later ownership name to reverse of title. Some worming to rear endpapers and a few pages of index. Large folding frontis., foxed and browned. All tree plates present. Pages browned otherwise a clean and sound copy.
