Cover image, a star-spangled majorette with bloody hands. Inside: Lennox Raphael on the Columbia student strike, a report on the German new left, a pretentious and lengthy utopian statement by Walden Three, and most attractive: a 3-color (red, blue, orange) full-page comic by Kim Deitch "The Kablitzen Follies, with that saucy wonder...Santa!" (warning: involves Santa sex).

New York: East Village Other, Publisher, 1968. Tabloid. Good. Side folding tabloid newspaper. 20 pp. Black and white illustrations and comix throughout. East Village Other was an underground newspaper from New York (duh), known for its early embrace of the counterculture and counterculture aesthetics, often using absurdist pieces to provide social commentary. As an early proponent of the underground comix movement, EVO published work by R. Crumb, Trina Robbins v(neither in this issue) and others, as well as publishing a paper devoted to comix. This issue with an article by Jerry Rubin on the Yippies being kicked out of Newport; a short piece on Woodstock, drug and counterculture musings, etc. With comix by Kim Deitch, Vaughn Bode and Spain Rodriguez. GOOD condition. Horizontal fold crease present. Moderate toning. A few small tears and creases along the fore edge. Mailing label on the upper front cover.
