Limited Edition of 4,500; these copies are both no. 3559. & are signed by author (w/ short inscription ""For Sxxxx Mxxxx"") & dated 1/22/99 on limitation pages. Each copy has marbled endpapers, full bright gilt text block edges & sewn-in cloth bookmark ribbons. ""Chesapeake"" includes 8.75"" x 5.75"" frameable color copy of cover illus., laid-in as found. Blue slipcase w/ gold author facsimile sig. on side panel clean & unmarred. DJ of ""Chesapeake"" has old flattened 3"" corner crease at bottom of inside front foldover flap- v. minor. DJ's clean, glossy & otherwise unmarred. Cloth bindings are tight, bright & clean. All gilt decoration & lettering crisp & intact. Texts are tight, clean & unmarked. Very handsome & well preserved set.
