William "Bill" Everson (1912 1994), also known as Brother Antoninus, was an American poet of the San Francisco Renaissance and a literary critic, teacher and small press printer. Everson worked closely with Kenneth Rexroth. Throughout his life, Everson was a great admirer of the work and life of poet Robinson Jeffers. Much of his work as a critic was done on Jeffers's poetry. This volume offers essays and comments on Creeley, Jeffers, Corso, Hart Crane, Robert Duncan, Robert Frost, Allen Ginsberg, Robert Lowell, W.S. Merwin, Henry Miller, Charles Olson, Ezra Pound, Louis Zukofsky, Walt Whitman, and the like.
