About This Item
London: Nonesuch Press, various. Four early Nonesuch prospectuses, all from the 1920's. Includes the first Prospectus issued by the Press in 1923, The First List of Fine Books in Limited Editions to be Published by the Nonesuch Press; Prospectus and Retrospectus of the Books Published by the Nonesuch Press 1923-1925 in Limited and Ordinary Editions; Nonesuch Books for Christmas 1925 for the Spring 1926; and Bodkin Permitting Being the Prospectus and Retrospectus for 1929 of the Nonesuch Press. The first prospectus is rare; this copy is lightly foxed. The second item is oversized, in fine condition with slight sunning along the lower edge. The third is near fine in paper covered boards with title and ornament in gold and blind tooling, slight bumping of corners and slight offsetting from the inside covers. The fourth is bound in marbled paper wrappers with title label glued to the front cover, and includes a statement that Random House is the exclusive US distributor for Nonesuch limited editions. It is in fine condition with a neat owner signature on the front pastedown.
