G (Some wear to binding and spine edges; light foxing to book block edges and on some surfaces; text and plates are good; bookplate & few marks from previous art-library owner.). Brown stamped cloth, gilt lettering and design. 169 pp., 30 BW plates, one color plate as frontispiece. "Popular and Abridged Edition, with a Coloured Frontispiece and 30 Illustrations in black and white." Demand for the 1922 First Edition was so quick that this abridged edition was released as a remedy and result. The chapter on Ju Yao was rewritten, a few other textual additions were made, and the chapters on technique and miscellaneous factories and marks and inscriptions were omitted. The number of illustrations was cut from more than 100 to just 30.
