About This Item

Duncan, Oklahoma: BearManor Media, 2012. First Edition. Signed and inscribed by writer / director Ib Melchior: “Stephen, This is my favorite script. Bestest, your friend, Ib - Ib Melchior”. Paperbound. Fine. An unproduced science fiction screenplay written by Melchior. A test pilot, veteran of Desert Storm, crashes while testing a top secret military device. His injuries rob him of his memory, reducing him to the level of an animal — but an animal with the intelligence and reasoning power of a man, and the fear and desperation of a hunted beast. He leads the men who would save him on a fantastic chase through the desolate and hostile country of Death Valley, pitting animal instinct against sophisticated technology. Ib Melchior (September 17, 1917 – March 14, 2015) was a Danish-American novelist, short-story writer, film producer, film director, and screenwriter of American science fiction movies, most of them released by American International Pictures including The Angry Red Planet, The Time Travelers, Reptilicus, Journey to the Seventh Planet, Robinson Crusoe on Mars, and Planet of the Vampires. “Melchior was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark, the son of Lauritz Melchior, an opera singer. He served in the Counterintelligence Corps (U.S. Army) during World War II. He also participated in the liberation of Flossenbürg concentration camp as well as the discovery of stolen currency, gold and art at Merkers-Kieselbach Cavern, and the capture of a Werwolf unit in 1945, for which he was awarded the Bronze Star”.
