In the first letter, DAVISI DESCRIBES HIS EXPERIMENTS WITH A TYPE OF RADIAL STEAM TURBINE and his investigations into sponges, soap bubbles and bloody rains. In the second letter, he presents and illustrates his theory on the origins of rivers and natural springs and extols galileo's scientific method. The book is dedicated to Leopoldo de' Medici (1617-75), patron of the sciences and cofounder of the Accademia del Cimento.
