Synopsis : Freya Starks autobiographical account of her service with the Ministry of Information and the Foreign Office during the Second World War from 1939 to 1946. She recounts details of a mainly persuasive role during her assignment in Aden, where she assisted with the Arab News Service; the Yemen, where she combated fascist influence by operating the only cinema projector in the country; in Egypt where she formed and expanded the Brotherhood of Freedom during the North Africa Campaign ; in Iraq where she extended the Brotherhood Committees in opposition to German influence ( here she was caught up in the German instigated siege of the British Embassy in Baghdad) ; in America, to counteract Zionist influence on Anglo-American relations; in Canada; and in India at the request of Lord Wavell at the time of the Simla conference. Condition: Price corner removed: overall very clean and good.
