London: Adam and Charles Black, 1903. Limited Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Mortimer Menpes. Edition De Luxe limited to one thousand copies, this hand numbered 86 and signed by Mortimer Menpes. Original cream cloth binding, highly decorated front and spine. The spine is darkened and there is a closed tear along the side at the top edge. Further light discoloration to boards, but remaining robust and attractive. Hinge and text block sound, though webbing revealed along back joint. No inscriptions or paste-downs. End papers a bit spotty, thereafter pages smooth clean and bright. All100 colour illustrated plates present, each with captioned tissue-guard. There is a 1 inch closed tear to the bottom edge of the half-title page. Closed page edge rough cut, and a little grubby. Overall an extremely well preserved book. May incur additional postage charges overseas.
