Michael Joseph, London, 1962. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/Very Good. Black coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Plaintext dustwrapper with green and white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Black and white photograph of author to the rear dustwrapper panel. Set in a secluded Maritime village, surrounded by industrial buildings a young woman's body is found, and, quoting from the front fold over panel blurb " ... Nicholson is staying in the village and the story of how he solves the riddle of the girl's death is as unlike the average Detective story as is every Mary Kelly novel." Minor rubbing of the book edges with a little softening of the back strip edges. Tanning of the text block edges with a few faint foxing spots visible. Offset tanning to the end pages and there are foxing marks to the first few and last few pages of the book. Minor Chipping of the dustwrapper corners with rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels. Gardening and marking of the rear dustwrapper panel. Some Browning of the edges of the fold over creases with a a few foxing spots to the verso. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 240 pages,.
