Very large, sturdy book, quality light red cloth, gilt lettering bright at top front and spine, gold color inside covers and adjacent end papers, 409 heavy pages. Bottom tip creased on page 407, full-page color-illustrations by N.C. Wyeth plus other illustrations. Some brown small stains to pages' bottom edge. DJ glossy red spine, back and front borders, Wyeth color-illustration of drummers and parade of flags beneath colorful clouds in orange frame on front, a list of re-issued Scribner Illustrated Classics on back. DJ has light scratches and light creases. DJ and book, both Near Fine.
