Translated from the French and with a preface by Jacques Le Clercq, illustrated by Boris Artzybasheff. Volume bears 1939 date but more likely published c.1960s-70s. Sandglass leaflet laid in (New York, no. VIII: 29). --- In full maroon cloth, gilt titling & illustration on spine; red topstain. Volume housed in maroon paper-covered slipcase. --- A clean, tightly-bound, bright copy though with slight soiling to cloth. Slipcase with small tears and scratches, else structurally sound.
