About This Item
1851. [MITCHELL, Donald G.]. DREAM LIFE: A Fable Of The Seasons. By Ik. Marvel. NY; Scribner's, 1851. Sm. 8vo., decorative blue cloth, teg. First Edition. [BAL 13931]. This copy conforms to all of Blanck's first printing points, except that the type is broken in "world" on p. vi, prior to the entry for p. 150. This would support the theory that the type was broken during the run of the first printing since it appears in all subsequent printing. There were four printings in the year of publication and the true first printing is uncommon. Signed autograph of Mitchell tipped-in. Nr. fine (minor wear & foxing, ink inscription front endpaper). $85.00.
