Paris / New York: Contact Editions, 1931. First Edition. wrappers. Good/No Jacket. 8vo. 8vo. 95pp. Light coloured wrappers printed in blue and black, with black lettering to the spine. Both covers with light staining around the edges, spine ends also lightly stained and worn, with a short 2cm tear in the front cover in the upper right corner, covers remain unusually bright and clean otherwise.Two small pieces of the original glassine jacket remain glued in at each flap. Ink note to front endpaper of American book collector John Jermaine Slocum, his copy. This copy inscribed on the half-title by Nathanael West to American art dealer, collector and author Ely (Eric) Estorick. Edition of 500 copies, this is number 111. Even with the wear and light staining to the covers, this is a nice copy of a fragile book often found in rough condition. Author's first novel.
