Hardcover has red paper-covered boards with black cloth-covered spine and red and silver spine and cover lettering. Binding tight. Hinges NOT cracked. Corners and spine ends lightly bumped. Covers have light surface and edge wear. Top page edges have some light stains. Pages clean and unmarked. One page is dog-eared. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. 278 pages+ index. Faint trace of an old price on verso of front free endpaper. Dust jacket has overall surface rubbing, chipped and nicked edges, small to 1 inch tears, and creases. Tears have been repaired on the inside of the jacket surface with archival document repair tape. Jacket spine is sunned and jacket edges are tanned. Jacket is NOT price clipped, showing original price of $3.50. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
