Famed professor of Russian & East European History known for his work on vampires here explores the life & legends surrounding the real Countess Elizabeth Bathory, reputed to have murdered nearly 700 young women so she could use their blood to maintain her youth. In 254 pages with Index, Bibliography & Filmography, illustrations throughout. This is the original hardcover edition from 1983, NOT the later reprint, but a Book Club Edition. Hardcover book is VG+: completely clean, binding strong & straight, pages white. Only flaws are 1) small purple smudge to fore edge, 2) light foxing to outside top page edges. The unclipped DJ is only Good, marred by rubbing to extremities, heaviest along spine, & chipping at top of spine/corners. Nicely protected in new mylar cover Free!
