A neat gift inscription to the front free end-paper otherwise VG indeed. The dustwrapper is priced 7s 6d net to the inside flap (as called for) and is good only with several chips/creases to the edges. "A short rip-roaring yarn set locally in Dymchurch and then on the 'high seas'. This is the second book by Russell Thorndyke, written after the success of his first Dr Syn novel, but the first chronologically in the life of local vicar, Dr Syn, aka The Scarecrow, who in the original story is a kind of Robin Hood dual personality smuggling hero" (Good Reads).
