About This Item
New York: Fleming H. Revell Company, 1910 Pictorial gray cloth. Probable first edition; the sketches within were first published in various magazines of the period ("The Century," "Putnam's," etc.) Tissue-guarded frontispiece half-tone photograph of Grenfell and Commander Peary and half-tone photographs within text. Moderate-to-heavy rubbing of cover extremities, with tattering at spine tips. Half of rear spine edge discolored and split, but re-glued by library and intact. Moderate scuffing and soil to cover cloth. Prior owner name, date in pencil on front endpaper. Library marks: bookplate affixed to inside cover; spine lettering; very small remnants/shadows of removed pocket strip and "date due" slip at rear endpapers. Text block clean and intact.
