New York: The Macmillan Company, 1902. First Edition. Very Good. With illustrations by Howard Chandler Christy. First edition, 'set up and electrotyped April, 1902.' Bound in illustrated cloth over boards with black borders, gilded lettering, and colored illustrations on front and spine. Rubbing at edges and corners; generally used, but very good to near fine. Gilded top edge, rough cut long and lower edges. Small, almost imperceptible scrape on ffep, likely from previous removal of a sticker or from publisher's glue, no residue. Internally, free from notes inscriptions and bookplates; lightly toned, otherwise clean and clear.

Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall is a 1902 historical novel written by Charles Major. Following the life and romances of Dorothy Vernon in Elizabethan England, the novel became the year's third most successful novel according to the New York Times annual list of bestselling novels. The novel was Charles Major's second, and also his second bestseller, following When Knighthood Was in Flower. A 1903 play and a 1924 film are based on the novel.
