Good+ (heavy wear, soiling and chipping to covers, chipping to end papers, pages are lightly age toned but otherwise very clean and clear.). Two volumes bound in half white vellum boards and green paper boards with black illustration, gilt lettering on title blocks on spines, illustrated end papers. Volume 1 has a bw frontispiece, 82 pp text, 6 additional bw plates. Volume 2 has a bw frontispiece, text pages 83-165, 10 additional bw plates. Plates for each volume have protective guard sheets. "Limited to one thousand numbered and registered copies." Illustrated with designs by M. Gustave Dore. Includes critical and explanatory notes.
