London: Murray and Highley, 1802. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good - (minus). Four volume set. 22 x 14 cm. Octavos. xvi (2) 524pp, xiii 512pp, xii 512 pp, and xiii (1) 492pp. Bound in full brown leather with red spine labels. Piece out of rear endpaper of volume one. Previous owner's bookplate on rear fixed endpaper of each volume. Some staining to the first few pages of volume 2. 28 full page plates throughout the 4 volumes, one of which is in color, of a White Saxifrage. Additional in-text engravings and cuts. There are 3 gouge marks to the spines of each volume which effects the legability of spine labels. Bindings are tight. Title continues: "Comprehending a concise view of the latest discoveries, inventions and imporvements, chiefly applicable to rural and domestic economy; together with descriptions of the most interesting objects of nature and art; the history of men and animals, in a state of health of disease; and practical hints respecting the arts and manufactures, both familiar and commercial.
