About This Item
London: Bradbury and Evans, 1848. With 16 pages of advertisements to fep, errata to recto page 16 of ads, and indentifying marker of hook to Captain's left hand on frontispiece. Ex-libris of a Charles Chambers (armorial plate reads "Facta Non Verba"). Rebound professionally; spine has been lifted and re-settled in one piece, light chips to edges evident. PDs original brown decorative flower design, period pencil note to verso flyleaf reads "First Edition with a series of portraits and a specimen wrapper found in uncut bound from the parts". It appears here that some parts (more so to the rear) have been tipped in when being re-bound; this would need further clarification upon enquiring in regards to sale. CE are uncut, small pen mark to head of page 75, else sound. Light discolouration commensurate with age. A sound copy.. First Edition. Half Leather Cloth Boards. Very Good/No Jacket. Illus. by Browne, H. K. 8vo.
