Synopsis
Dogeaters is a fictional novel written by Jessica Hagedorn and published in 1990. Hagedorn also adapted her novel into a play by the same name [http//www. amazon. com/dp/1559362154]. Hagedorn's mixed ethnic background, with a Scots-Irish-French-Filipino mother and a Filipino-Spanish father, allows her to have a unique point of view of her homeland. Dogeaters addresses several social, political and cultural issues present in the Philippines during the 1950s.
