Housed in five separate marbled paper portfolios, green cloth spines, each with three green cloth ties. Each volume contains loose black and white photographic plates. All five volumes are complete, for a total of 206 illustrated plates. Occasional toning to plates, a touch of rubbing to edges, free of any foxing or soiling. This history of European ironwork covers the reigns of Louis XV and Louis XVI in the first four volumes, and the period from the 12th Century through the 18th century in the 5th volume. A presentable set. Importante publication iconographique concernant la ferronnerie ancienne, divisée en cinq series. Les quatre premières concernent les époques de Louis XV et Louis XVI; elles comportent 166 planches. La cinquième est consacrée aux ouvrages de ferronnerie du douzième au dix-huitième siecle; elle contient 40 planches. La publication complète compte 7 séries. Publiées à des dates diverses on les trouve rarement ensemble.
