Hardcover, no dustjacket, burgundy cloth, top edge gilt, "The present volume consists of a series of eight addresses delivered as the Hewitt Lectures of Columbia University at Cooper Union in New York City during the months of February and March, 1907," 311 pages + 4 pages of ads, this is a clean, unmarked copy except for the former owner's name on the first blank end-paper, the corners have mild rubbing at the tips, the binding is tight, the contents are fine, and there are no other remarkable flaws .
