A biography of American doctor and naval officer Elisha Kent Kane (1820-57). He was best-known for his part in the two Grinnell Expeditions of the 1850s, the second of which he led, which intended to discover the fate of John Franklin and his lost expedition. 306pp, 37 b&w illustrations, 6 maps..
